What does a Komodo trip cost?
Indicative charter budgets for a day or overnight trip start around USD 8,000–18,000 for the aircraft. That excludes the hotel, park fees and any yacht charter. The flight runs to Labuan Bajo, the nearest main airport, with a boat transfer into the park.
Do I clear customs again on a domestic leg?
No. International customs and immigration happen at your first Indonesian port of entry, which is normally Denpasar. Onward legs to Lombok, Labuan Bajo or a helipad are domestic segments, so the checks focus on that initial arrival.
Why a turboprop rather than a jet?
Short-runway capability. These sectors use aircraft chosen for performance at regional Indonesian airfields — runway length, handling and higher cycle counts — rather than for cabin size, which is why a light jet or turboprop is usually the right answer.
Can a seaplane be part of the itinerary?
Sometimes. A jet into Bali can connect to a seaplane or helicopter for short hops to Lombok, the Gilis or remote bays. The seaplane leg is priced separately per hour and depends on local operator availability and regulations.
Is it cheaper to bundle the legs?
Usually. Complex series — Bali to Lombok, Komodo, Sumba and back — tend to price better as a structured package on one aircraft and crew than as separate one-off quotes, particularly across a multi-day itinerary.
